    All of the add-ons I know of need the address bar, tab bar, or status bar to show page load progress, unfortunately.

    Tooltips are supposed to show context-sensitive information. As page loading progress doesn't really fall into that category, I would recommend the "Fission" ad...

    I'll look into it - it might make more sense to disable tooltips for links with a certain property (or URL) instead of for the entire site.
